Nairobi Central District is one very busy place in Nairobi Town. Day and night it is always busy with different people going about with their activities. Hawkers sell all kinds of products from foodstuff to clothes. People who work going home from the offices and those coming to replace those changing shifts. Some are rushing to town to make deliveries. There is always something to do in town including relaxing in the parks.
One evening I was coming from work at around 8:30 pm going towards the railway station to catch a commuter bus home I heard a blasting sound. It was caught with mixed reactions: I was a little scared but seeing that everyone immediately went ahead with what they were doing, I brushed it off thinking it could be a tire bust.
Not a minute had passed and there was another one and another one. That is when I saw a police officer chasing a man who had handcuffs on him. "Paw", he fired again in the air. But the man was determined to run for his life. They were heading towards where I was standing at that moment. I thought of many things including lying down and again seeing that no one had lied down they could step on me while running. Then I thought of running behind the matatu a close commuter bus.
In that moment of confusion and going to hide, the guy was caught. Turns out that there was a traffic police officer who was close and he ran straight into his arms. That is when all the storytellers in this world were created. Suddenly everybody knew what could have caused the guy to be caught and what he should have done.
