PERSPECTIVE

At that time of your life, you wish people could understand you but they can’t. It is you to figure it out. The moment you look up to someone and as always they let you down. Can’t get used to the disappointment yet it happens again and again. You wish this time round it may be different, shock on you. You have undergone enough and proper character development. You cried till you can’t cry no more. You have waited till you feel your feet are growing roots. If it’s standing your muscles can’t carry your weight anymore. Always receiving blows from the left-right center. It’s like you are playing with life but it’s not playing back. Wake up sister, wake up. See yourself for who you are and others will see you the same. Toss away the disparity for a moment and see what it does to you. Live your life moment after moment and if it’s good, grab it and run. Just be careful your moment not to be a year, five years, or ten years. Make your moment as short as possible from the beginning. Let’s s...

KAZA KAMBA MEANS MORE EFFORTS

"KAZA KAMBA" literally means tightening the rope. It  is a Swahili saying that implies putting  more effort into whatever we are doing.   What efforts are you making to improve the outcome of any task at hand? What are the results and are you satisfied with them?   Do you live your life?     My efforts are so intense but the outcome is less according to how I feel. Why do I walk in the morning, instead of taking a bus to school; why do I wake up early, only to come and find the door isn’t opened yet; why do I stay at school till it gets dark, yet I could leave at the stated time which is five o’clock in the evening; and why do I wait to pay cheaper transport, yet I can at least manage to pay the expensive ones and remain with nothing even a shilling… All the above have reasons which include; saving money, having free time to practice more on what I learn during the day, planning for the day before I step into class, and so forth. I only need to add ...

TAKING BUS NAPS AND BUS NAP POSITIONS

Taking a nap on the bus has always felt good, at least for me. The time does not matter. Some people enjoy their naps in the morning on their way to work or school. What do you always do on your way to work? Here are common examples of what I have witnessed people do on the bus on their way to work or other places. Meditate Make phone calls Read for exams Play games on their mobile phones Social media Napping Napping is the most amusing item in the list above, especially in the morning. My shoulder has been a victim once when a stranger fell asleep deeply next to me on the bus and slowly inclined towards my shoulder till he lost control and slammed on it. In such situations, you wonder where they spent the night until that day when it finally happens to you. Everyone has their own reasons and I have had several morning episodes over the years my reason is, that being a mother of 3 young ones all within 5 years bracket can be tiresome. Morning naps rejuvenate my nerves and when I get to...

DRAMA ON THE ROADS.

The dramas during rush hour in the morning of a weekday can be hilarious with everyone rushing to go to work, attend meetings, make crucial deliveries to clients, and so forth. All these cause Drama on the Roads and commotions in one way or the other. On my way to college the other day I saw lots of incidents. Some were shocked and some amusing. One thing is that an incident can be shocking to you, yet totally amusing to another, or vice versa. I saw an accident involving a personal car crashing into a commuter bus. The bus was picking up passengers from the bus stop and a personal car carrying a policeman in the passenger seat comes and stops behind it. The driver with the personal car suddenly goes forward instead of reversing to leave the bus stop. He hits himself on the rare of the bus and his car gets crashed.    The crush could have been caused by several reasons. The driver is confused due to his company(the police)  He could be drunk early morning  Incompeten...
